Moov Coach & Guided Workouts App Reviews

Excellent!

I would highly recommend this app and this watch. Ive been using it since the start of the summer. The constant encouragement and reminders during workouts have helped me maintain a workout regime that I never have in the past. I usually get burned out or bored, but there are so many options and the feedback had helped me so much. I love this app and am planning to purchase a second watch just to do the boxing workout.

New version is no good

Very inaccurate, especially when I do TRX or bootcamp. They wont let me return the product even though they broke it when they updated the firmware. I loved it for a few months before the software update. Now this thing is an overpriced paperweight. Ill be selling it on Craigslist if anybody wants it. Others who do more cardio seem to like it better but its not right for me.

Custom run

It would be better if you could set a custom pace for a custom distance or time. For instance, I am aiming at an 8 min/mile pace for 3 miles without stopping. If I could set that and have the Moov give me voice cues telling me how my cadence and pace are compared to that goal it would be great. Please add this feature. Thanks

Perfect design, And easy to use

I love it, They have really unique design. One of the most important something to me in any app THE DESIGN. Thanks Moov

Cool

Great concept and very nice UI. What would really be awesome is if there was an open workout feature so that we could count our Crossfit workouts or our weightlifting etc. this would make this gadget the coolest thing, ever. Please consider this.

Ehhh

PLEASE READ MOOV TEAM the app and tracker is good. But there is so much you need to add. First, just add the a step metric in the app. The MOOV device is more than capable of tracking steps so add that! Next, also add custom runs. So if I want to run a 8 minute mile, it will coach me on cadence and stuff for that time. Also! Please add sprinting! If I want to track a 100m sprint, it should recognize my movement and give me detailed feedback on sprinting, not just put it in my active minutes. PLEASE READ. THANK YOU

Awaiting improvements

Improved software for swimming (!) but did not recognize the butterfly stroke. It would be great if various swimming sessions could be compared to get an idea of the progress. NO CLEAR WAY to have MOOV interact with the iOS 10 activity tracker. Please fix! As someone has written before, it would be good to track various sleep periods. Where the device shines is for swimming - although it would be better if it could interpret more data from its last page. More varied feedback in biking or "brisk walking," would make the MOOV NOW more compelling. Finally customer service - responding to mail could be greatly improved: I get generic responses. Thank you!

Decent app

I like the refreshed look of the latest app and the minor changes to how it motivates you, but please, update the app for the native screen resolution of the bigger iPhones already. This is getting silly. Also, please push sleep data into the Apple Health dashboard.

Still not taking full advantage of the decide

This update is about 1.5 yrs later than what they planned. The spinning app came along way too late and way below expectation. It only show you current cadence and heart rate but is in no way a program like others. There was no coaching (not that important anyway) but no program or levels. Can it that hard to create some for the fun of it? Still does not sync sleep with apple health. They have promised to allow data to escape the app but still have it lock down. They are also adamant about not showing step. Im not sure why hide such data when you can provide it. Data collected is presented in a mediocre way for the indoor cycling at least. Want to compare between session? Better open every session you ever done. Want to interact with your graphs of data? Nope. The device can track so much but the app came up so short (lacks of ways to capture data or present captured data in a obscured way). I get it. The app is sort of an after thought with the device. But the app is what shows what the device can do. the longer the Moov team neglect this app, the worse its going to get. No matter what the next device they manage to come up with, Im not thrilled if this app remains the way it is.

So close!!!

The latest update is a huge improvement! Now you can add your miles for treadmill runs which helps a freaking ton! Tracking miles is kinda important. :) Still lacks that ability for the stationary bike (its not always outdoor weather here in Chicago) but this is a big step in the right direction. Indoor workouts arent totally treated like a unwanted stepchild anymore...still not sitting at the head of the table, but not resigned to a brown dungeon in the basement Swimming is still pretty dull but its actuate and good for analysis over time....If you guys figure out a way of making it more exciting, Id be impressed Love the improvements and k.eep up the good work.

Calories

Like the single app, but it recently stopped tracking my calories for swimming.

Lost love

I had learned to love this little gadget over the past 3 months. Almost lost it a few times until Christmas day. That jog somehow ended up twisting the bracelet, although snug, and it just popped out. Gone. Bye bye. Im so mad that the bracelet can just so easily twist and result in such a catastrophic loss of data. Given the price, and the other complaints about this issue that seem to go unaddressed - on moov website-im not getting a second one. Super Christmas bummer!!!

Life changing product!

6 stars!

Ridiculous App & Poor Design

The app is subpar, only showing you half of your fitness story. It doesnt fully link to apple health kit and doesnt link at all with other apps that give you the other half of your fitness picture. The device itself cuts out halfway through a workout leaving you with zero data for half of your workout, so no real usable data at all. On top of that the core pops out, even when you wear it exactly as instructed, then when you lose it because of the ridiculous design flaw its on you to come up with the money to replace it. Ive thrown out my now empty bands and deleted the app. Ill still with my Fitbit until I find a more reliable tracker that gives me the coaching I need.

WIP

Overall, the coaching is good (at least for the workouts I use) and I am enjoying using it. It has me more active, motivated, and working out better. In some ways, it does still feel like a beta product. The latest update skips the beginnings of the videos when transitioning during the 7 minute workout. The accuracy of counting reps also still needs some work as it either stutters on reps of skips them entirely. It tends to overstate sleep time (this really needs some clean-up work and, in particular, it should be able to tell the difference between resting and no movement at all, in which case it should know Im not wearing it). It also thinks Im working out when Im shampooing my hair in the shower. Id rather not have to take it off just for this. Please also update for the newer iPhones. Its really silly for the images to appear clunky when the larger I phone screens have been out for well over a year already. Finally, on the hardware itself, I agree with a lot of other users posts that the bands are too soft and twist and stretch too easily. I havent lost my tracker yet, and certainly hope not to, but I would prefer a more robust band to hold it.

Extremely High Calorie Calculation

Not sure if Im the only one having this problem. But after a recent update, it starts showing 2500-3500 daily calories burn (and even overwrites the historical data). Based on my age/height/weight status and daily activity level, it seems unreasonably high. Please fix this calculation error? Besides that, everything is fine.

I purchased one for each of my family

Please include spinning in the app!!! The whole reason I purchased is to use with my spin bike. The band is really hard to get on but easy to knock off. My husband and son love using it!

More Workouts

I purchased this solely for the sleep tracking function. The workouts were a major bonus. However, I just wish it had more at-home workout options such as using door frame pull up bars and free weight training with dumbells.

On The Right Track

I dont necessarily understand some of the more negative reviews of both the fitness tracker or the app. The Moov devices, in my opinion, do exactly what they were advertised to do. So far I have tested running, cycling, boxing, and the body workout routines, all of which work great. Sleep tracking is close to being accurate, but not quite perfect; and without a heart rate monitor or skin temperature sensor I doubt its going to get any better. It simply gets a good estimate, which is fine by me. I really like the Moov Now for what it is, a coach, and a great one at that. It forces me to push myself just a little harder than I normally would. It corrects my form when I start feeling tired on a long run. It motivates me to stay active by constantly reminding me in the app to get at least 30 active minutes every day. So why only four stars? There are no social features as of now. I bought one for both myself and my parents so we could keep each other motivated to keep doing better (were all fairly active people with competitive personalities). Also, I would LOVE the ability to export GPS and fitness data to third party apps/sites such as Endomondo. I like having a centralized hub that keeps track of all my workouts (since the Moov app doesnt necessarily track all of them). Overall though, its a great device with a very streamlined app that had a nice user interface. I imagine it will only get better from here.

Calorie counter

The swim calorie counter has been fixed...thank you
